LAURA
RICHARD JANKU
is editor in chief of Artweek,
a monthly publication covering West Coast visual art. A freelance
writer and curator, Laura has contributed to artext, ARTnews, Artweek,
artUS, Contemporary, San Francisco Reader, Sculpture, and zingmagazine.
Her curating projects include the 2003 exhibition, Sewn Together,
at Gregory Lind Gallery, San Francisco. From 1997 to 2000 Laura
was a curatorial assistant at Cantor Center for the Arts at Stanford
University and, prior to that, she was assistant director at Locks
Gallery, Philadelphia.
Laura is president of Foto Forum, an SFMOMA auxiliary dedicated
to supporting the Photography Department through educational programs
and acquisitions for the permanent collection; she is also a member
of InSite, the SFMOMA auxiliary for the department of painting and
sculpture.
She has degrees in English and Art from Kenyon College in Ohio.
Laura lives with her husband and three children in Kentfield, California.
